The “Country Cottage” concept of self contained accommodation is very popular with New Zealand travellers when going to Britain and Europe and now is starting to “catch on” within New Zealand with more “cottages” and holiday or vacation homes becoming available.
Nicara Lakeside Cottage on Lake Rotorua, New Zealand, stands in its own grounds with superb lakeside views, a small beach and jetty. The boat shed and ramp will suit a small runabout. The gardens are beautiful and there is a covered area outside to enjoy a drink as the sun goes down. Along the complete front of the cottage is a wide elevated deck, an ideal place to sunbathe or entertain. The cottage is graded 4plus Stars (Holiday Homes) by Qualmark and is truly a home from home, a cosy New Zealand bach.
Nicara Cottage is located at 40 Ranginui Street and is only 4 doors from Nicara Lodge where owners Heather and Mike Johnson live. They can assist with local knowledge and sightseeing opportunities. The Lodge based kayaks are also available to Cottage guests, subject to availability.
On arrival please report to the Lodge and uplift keys and maybe discuss your stay with Heather & Mike.

Beautiful cottage. Loved our stay here especially looking out the the lake, very calming . Despite the rain our stay here was so relaxing. Thank you.

The cottage was perfect for our family - the kids loved feeding the swans and playing all sorts of games - football in the back, monopoly and imaginery games in the gardens. Thank you.
