HOW TO FIND NICARA LAKESIDE COTTAGE

FROM TAUPO (SOUTH)
As you enter the Rotorua 80km speed zone take the
left hand lane, and follow SH 5 into Old
Taupo Road. Do NOT take the right hand fork to the
city centre.
Follow SH 5 for 12 km. It joins into Rainbow
Springs Road at the major intersection with Lake Road
and Clonbern Road. Go straight through the lights
following the signs to Ngongotaha. Pass the Skyline
Gondolas and Rainbow Springs on the left and continue
to the major roundabout. Follow the signs to Ngongotaha
taking the second exit on the left on the roundabout and
then proceed as per below.

FROM TAURANGA
Take the Tauranga Direct route (SH36) along Pyes Pa Road.
This route from Tauranga is a lot quicker, and only 38km
to Ngongotaha. At the end of the road turn right towards
Ngongotaha travel for 6km, passing Keith Road and
Dalbeth Road and proceed down the hill towards
Ngongotaha Village. At the bottom of the hill on the
left is Waiteti Road. Proceed as per below.

FROM AIRPORT

Turn left into Te Ngae Road. Continue 8.4km, past the Whakatane turnoff and Lake Rotoiti on your right. Turn left into Hamurana Rd and continue round the lake, past the Tauranga Direct road. Continue past Keith, Oturoa and Dalbeth Roads. At the bottom of the hill on the left is Waiteti Road, 23km from airport. Proceed as per below.

FROM AUCKLAND (NORTH)
As you descend into Rotorua from the Mamaku Hills, at the bottom of the hill there is a large roundabout. Take the first exit to the left, clearly signposted Ngongotaha. You next enter a 50km speed zone, and drive right through the Village passing the GULL Petrol Station on the right. Continue over the railway line, enter the 70km speed zone, and cross the bridge over the Waiteti Stream. The next street on the right is Waiteti Road.
This is 1km from the GULL Station. Continue down Waiteti Road to the very end (1km) and here is a “T” junction. To the right is Arnold Street. Take the left hand turn into Ranginui Street. If you go straight ahead you are in the Lake!!!

Nicara Lakeside Cottage is 0.6km along Ranginui Street on the right. Number 40. Please call into Nicara Lodge first as you pass number 30 Ranginui Street for your keys and registration.

Nicara Cottage is accessible by public bus transport from Rotorua with a bus stop almost outside the door.
